McMan Calgary Job board
Youth Development Coordinator
Description
YOUTH DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR
COMMUNITY GROUP CARE
MANHATTAN PLACE
INTERNAL/EXTERNAL
PERMANENT FULL-TIME (40 hours/week - 2 shift lines available)
MEANINGFUL WORK. LASTING IMPACT.
At McMan Calgary & Area, connection is at the centre of everything we do. Each year, we support more than 5,000 children, youth, adults and families facing complex challenges, including mental health concerns, addiction, homelessness, poverty and disability. We believe every person has deep and lasting worth, and we see people for who they are, not for what they're facing.
Our work supports people to rebuild and strengthen connections to self, peers, family, community, culture and the land. Belonging, identity and wellbeing grow through relationships because people need people. Professional support is there for a season or a reason, not a lifetime. We create the conditions; people build the lives they want for themselves.
The Role
Step into a home where young people come first. Manhattan Place is a community-based group home for youth aged 12 to 17 who are referred through Children’s Services. It offers a safe, stable living environment with individualized support and around-the-clock care. The work goes beyond day-to-day care. We partner closely with each young person to strengthen relationships with family and friends and to build lasting connections in the community.
As our Youth Development Coordinator, you’ll be the heart of the home: a steady, caring presence who makes sure everyday needs are met in a way that feels safe, supportive, and truly like home. Working from a trauma-informed, strength-based, and relationship-based approach, you’ll nurture the personal, social, cultural, and educational growth of each young person while modelling a collaborative, cooperative spirit.
No two days look the same. You’ll provide day-to-day care, set goals alongside youth, and carry out case management. You’ll also liaise with caseworkers, connect with natural supports, and prepare young people for their next steps. Along the way, you’ll teach life skills, help build routines that bring stability, and champion each young person’s overall well-being.
We’re looking for someone who builds strong relationships, cares deeply about people, and is ready to learn alongside youth, families, and communities. If that sounds like you, come help us build a home where young people feel supported, connected, and ready to thrive.
While the primary shift lines currently available are indicated below, flexibility for shift rotation within Community Group Care is required based on program needs:
