McMan Youth, Family and Community Services Association of Calgary & Area is a responsive and innovative organization making a difference in the lives of more than 4100 children, youth and families annually. We support children, youth and families with complex needs that can include mental health issues, addictions, homelessness, poverty and disability by providing them with the services and supports they need to thrive. As a fundamental practice across all McMan services, we work with individuals to help them maintain and grow relationships that can extend beyond our professional support - lifelong connections that can help people sustain and build on, their strengths ad new skills.
McMan’s Family Development Program is looking for a Family Support Worker to join our team. As a Family Support Worker, you would be responsible for conducting home visits, goal planning with families, providing supportive counselling, advocacy and referrals. The ideal candidate will possess excellent crisis management abilities and be comfortable working independently in the community.

This position does require some evenings (3 evenings per week) and occasional weekends.
The successful candidate:
·      Will possess a completed degree or diploma in social work, psychology or related human service discipline
·      Have 3+ years of direct experience working with families
·      Have direct experience working with children and families from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds
·      Have experience working with at risk families with complex needs (domestic violence, mental health, and Children and Family Services status)
·      Have strong working knowledge of child development and parenting skills
·      Must have excellent interpersonal and supportive counselling skills
·      Nurturing Parenting Program, Circle of Security Parenting, and/or Triple P training is an asset
·      Will be proficient with using data bases and current technology
·      Working knowledge of assessments tools
·      Must have a reliable vehicle and proof of adequate vehicle insurance
·      Must have CURRENT (within 6 months) Child Intervention check and Police-Vulnerable Sector check

Salary Range: $54,193-$60,215
