Foster Parents - Calgary & Area
Description
McMan Youth, Family and Community Services Association of Calgary and Area is an organization making a difference in the lives of more than 4,100 vulnerable children, youth and families annually. We support children, youth and families with complex needs that can include mental health issues, addictions, homelessness, poverty and disability by providing them with the services and supports they need to thrive. McMan exists because we believe in everyone’s deep and infinite worth. At McMan, no matter who you are, we will always walk with you. In everything we do, we will be humble and bold. Through these actions, we will be receptive, relevant, relational, and real with our community.
For 35 years, McMan Calgary has been providing foster care services in Calgary and surrounding communities. Our foster care program offers safe, caring, out-of-home placement in a family environment for children and youth that are unable to live at home. Foster care services are designed to provide temporary, stable, trauma-informed and culturally responsive care for babies, children and youth. The primary goal of foster care is for children to return to their family of origin, kin or community.
Do you see yourself as patient, empathetic and resilient?
Do you have the ability to adapt to diverse needs?
Can you communicate effectively and professionally with other team members?
If these statements describe you, then fostering may be a suitable fit!

We are looking for compassionate caregivers that believe in the importance of natural connections in a child/youth’s life. Foster caregivers are expected to be actively engaged with the biological family/family of origin and the siblings of children and youth in their care.
