Why does working in a relationship-based, trauma-informed environment with youth in Calgary appeal to you at this stage of your career? * This role prioritizes knowledge of Indigenous people’s unique histories and cultural practices. How has your own lived experience, community involvement, or previous work prepared you to support Indigenous youth and families toward reunification? * Youth in our Manhattan Place and Wellington programs often have complex needs, including mental health challenges and trauma-related behaviors. Can you describe your comfort level and experience in maintaining a safe, predictable structure while managing crisis or high-stress situations? * A major part of this role involves "walking alongside" youth to teach daily life skills—from meal prep and hygiene to money management. Beyond basic care, how do you approach role-modeling and teaching these skills to a teenager who may be resistant to support? Share your experience in developing and implementing goal-oriented plans to help children and youth increase their independence. * While some age groups overlap between Manhattan Place and Wellington, Wellington also supports younger children. Share your experience in working with different age groups including 8-10 year olds, 11-13 year olds, and 14-17 year olds. What has been the most successful approach you have used to connect with these different age groups? * As a relief (casual) staff member, you must adhere to McMan’s Shift Expectations Policy, which includes maintaining the availability to accept a minimum of two shifts per month across varying hours (days, evenings, nights, weekends).
