The Milestones program is currently seeking a dedicated individual who has a passion for working with children and youth with disabilities and supporting their families. The Family Coordinator will be responsible for working with families to develop service plans, teach parents strategies and tools to increase their capacity to positively parent their children and include them fully in family and community life. The Family Coordinator will be involved in independent community work with families as well as potentially facilitating groups. This position will require the incumbent to work a minimum of 3 evenings a week and able to travel in and around Calgary and surrounding area including Chestermere, Strathmore, and Airdrie.
Key Responsibilities
- Comprehensive case management and documentation: maintaining proficiency in data systems while ensuring all paperwork meets accreditation and policy standards
- Therapeutic intervention and family capacity building: empowering families to increase self-efficacy and providing specific support for the unique challenges of raising a child with a disability
- Evidence-based and inclusive practice: developing client-centered relationships that align with organizational values and the program’s logic model
- Collaborative advocacy and program integrity: participating in program evaluations and quality assurance to improve service delivery across the board
Ideal Candidate
- Degree or Diploma in Community Rehabilitation and/or Disability Studies
- Ability to demonstrate extensive knowledge of developmental disorders and experience implementing and modeling numerous behavioural and developmental strategies
- Possess excellent organizational skills
- Capable of working flexible hours including a minimum of 3 evenings and on-call rotation within the organization
- Works collaboratively within a team environment as well as highly motivated when working independently
- Competent in working with families who have experienced trauma, working with Child and Family Services and/or assisting families in meeting basic needs such as housing, food, safety, etc.

Salary Range: $54,193 - $60,215 per year
